A beautiful oil study of an intimate view, at one of Australias most treasured National Parks, Wilsons Promontory in Victoria. Known for its natural beauty and diverse wildlife, the Aboriginal name for this area is Yiruk, and the traditional indigenous history here dates back over 6000 years.
Then one day, in 1798, a European man named Lt Wilson set foot ashore, upon a rock, and it has since been known as Wilsons Promontory. Perhaps one day, the indigenous name will be restored; Yiruk.
