Antique Dutch Still Life, Roses – Johannes Franciscus Kops (1873-1951)


Exquisite Dutch still life of large white and pink Roses in full bloom, spilling out of an oriental ginger jar vase.

By listed Dutch artist Johannes Franciscus (Frans) Kops (1873-1951). Kops lived and worked in the Netherlands city of Den Bosch and spent time in Belgium (Bruges) where he spent a year studying the masters in museum collections. Upon his return to the Netherlands, he became known for his paintings and murals in the churches and public buildings in the North Brabant province.

Oil on canvas with original side studding to the stretcher, signed upper right Fr.Kops.

Measures: 36.5cm high, 45cm wide.

Good original condition, minor scuff marks to the edges.
