A wonderful self portrait, original etching by the English artist William Strang (1859-1921).
The portrait is in excellent original condition and has been professionally matted and framed behind art acrylic, in a period gilt wood & gesso frame. Original London gallery provenance verso.
Signed by the artist in pencil lower right, signed by the engraver in pencil lower left.

William Strang (1859-1921) – Painter, etcher & engraver of portraits and figure subjects; Strang undertook his studies at the Slade School of Fine Art, London, and successfully exhibited throughout his career; his works are held in several public British collections. In 1918 he became the President of the International Society of Sculptors, Painters & engravers, living in London for most of his career.
