Portrait of a Regency Gentleman c1800-1820

An early 19th Century c1800-1820, Portrait of a Gentlman. This handsome Regency era young man, looks like he is straight out of a Jane Austen novel. Young men of fashion in the Regency era, such as our sitter, styled their hair with short natural curls around the face, some bouffant height at the top, and were clean shaven with sideburns. His clothing also reflects this particular period, with his dapper Cravat and white shirt with high stiff collar.

Such a  fabulous Portrait! The painting sits in its original & substantial wooden frame and has been professionally cleaned and restored by Jenny Dawson (MA in Conservation & Restoration of Fine Art UK).

Oil on canvas, unsigned, original wood frame with decorative gilt gesso border. The painting can be hung with or without the frame.
