To the back of the stretcher, the wonderful company logo of an anchor with a caduceus & the initials LF; from the French colourmen Lefranc & Cie, founded in 1836 they were one of the first providers within France for artists colours & supplies and still in operation today, under the name Lefranc & Bourgeois.
