A tranquil & atmospheric panoramic view, of a moonlit lake and mountain landscape. By New Zealand artist William Allen Bollard (1869-1942).
William Bollard was a respected Dunedin based artist and teacher of art, who studied both in Sydney and Melbourne; as a teenager he was under the tutelage of landscape artist Kennett Watkins, master of the Auckland Free School of Art in 1880. By 1906 Williams landscapes were being successfully exhibited. He exhibited with the Otago Art Society throughout his fourty year career, painting the South Islands lakes and mountains, as well the Maori Villages and surrounds in the North.
