Brian Seidel’s first art teacher in high school was one of Australias most important artists, Jeffrey Smart. He then went under the tutelage of the artist Sir Ivor Hele, who was five time recipient of the Archibald Prize.
Brian Seidel’s landscapes and figurative works are held in major collections around the country, most notably the major galleries, Art Gallery NSW, Nat Gallery of Victoria, Art Gallery of South Australia and the Queensland Art Gallery. He has exhibited extensively around Australia from 1964.
Brian Seidel died peacefully in April 2019 in Victoria.
